The Rhône national police launched an appeal for witnesses this Friday after the macabre discovery of the body of a man in a public toilet in Vénissieux (Rhône), Tuesday morning.

It was a resident of the town who discovered the individual on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. He was already dead when firefighters arrived on the scene. This is why it was decided, together with the Samu doctor, not to start resuscitation because of the rigor mortis of the body, according to News Lyon.

Identified through facial recognition

According to initial findings, the death was not due to the intervention of a third party. The victim, who had no identity papers, could be identified thanks to facial recognition. Aged 22, he was of Algerian nationality, reports Progress.

According to the national police, the man is of North African type, measures 1m69 and is of slender build. His hair is brown, cut short, and he has brown eyes. On the day of the tragedy, he was dressed in a red T-shirt from the Olympique Lyonnais football club, red shorts and a pair of Nike sneakers.
