Vénissieux: the police shoot after a refusal to comply, one dead and one injured

One person was killed and another injured in the head in Vénissieux, near Lyon, after a refusal to comply, according to information from BFMTV, confirmed by the police to AFP.

The police tried to control the passengers of a vehicle reported stolen, during the night of Thursday to this Friday, around midnight. According to a police source, the car was stopped in a supermarket parking lot and the police had deployed a device to prevent it from leaving.

But the driver would have started all the same, rushing towards the officers and hitting one of them, according to the police.

The police then fired at the vehicle. The passenger died and the driver was hit in the head. He would be brain dead.

According to BFMTV, the deceased passenger was in his twenties and the driver, seriously injured, would be 26 years old.
