The Huelva dancer daniel rosado Avila (Bollullos del Condado, 1983) and his company, colectivo Lamajarastar in the first artistic residency in this new edition of Dancing in Silver. Conferences and Residences of Artistic Creation in Andalusia and Extremadurawhich are held at the Municipal Theater of Aracena in Huelva from February 15 to 25.
Dancing in Silver is a project of Andalusian Association of Dance Companies and Professionals (PAD), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Cultural Industries of the Ministry of Culture and Sportthe coordination of Trans-Form Cultural Production and the support of the municipalities of Aracena (Huelva) and Sources of Leon (Badajoz). On the territory there is the mediation of Tell you Projects in Extremadura and the dancer Judith Mata in the Sierra de Huelva. Culture On Point is in charge of the administrative coordination and communication of the project. In order to publicize and value the role of the artist residencies within the creation process as a support model for professionals, as well as taking these creative dance projects to the rural world, involving their neighbors and groups, with dance workshops for different groups and meetings with significant characters from the area to enrich your project.

Verbena – dance to save the world
It is a remedy, without remedy (property of the plant to which its name refers), to the encounter between the dance and the people. A particular look at the rite of dancing and celebrating. From the Verbena project we value oral transmission, as that which is not written but underlies the idiosyncrasies of the popular festive act. Their dances, their costumes, their characters, their songs, are loaded with messages beyond what they show.
We like the idea of proposing alternative stories that create new references. Maintaining a direct dialogue with tradition, studying their dances, their narratives and contrasting them with stories that occur in an updated, contemporary system of values, where integration and respect between communities is favored.
Verbena is presented as a group of dances, traversed by scenic fables where the dance and the language of the body of the unusual, can be the protagonists.
For us, that legacy of cultural transmission that is transmitted from generation to generation is important to see how that can be reflected in the dramaturgy of the choreography of Verbena.
daniel rosado will be accompanied by Pigeon Hurtado (artistic partner, dancer and choreographer of Lamajara); lola rodriguez (in charge of production) and the dancers Anna Katali, Anna Sagrera y Carlos Lopez.
