Together they dance to fashion heaven!
Advertising icon Verona Pooth (55) loves fashion, Guido-Maria Kretschmer (58) designs fashion. But that’s not all that connects the two. And that’s why they’re doing the talk thing together now.
The two TV favorites have known each other for a long time. For example, Verona had an unforgettable appearance on his Vox show in August 2019 „Shopping Queen“.
But now she has invited him to the season finale of her Magenta TV talk “More than Talking”. (The show will be available from June 7th).
For the interview, the two met in a very special place: in the former villa of the legendary fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld in Hamburg.
The listed property is located in the Blankenese district and has a living space of a good 340 square meters – so there is plenty of space for Verona and her guest.
Designer Guido Maria Kretschmer knew Karl Lagerfeld († 85) personally. They had met more often, had spent evenings together. After the death of the Chanel boss, Kretschmer once said admiringly: “Karl Lagerfeld was, is and will remain one of the greatest – the god of fashion.”
Of course will be talking to Verona Pooth reawakened his memories of Charlemagne. But Guido Maria Kretschmer also talks about his love for his dogs and why he married his husband Frank five times.
But Karl Lagerfeld both connect personal stories. The black dress that Verona wears in the interview with Guido Maria Kretschmer is a model by Chanelthat Lagerfeld once gave her.
But not only this dress comes from the deceased fashion designer. He also designed her wedding dress, which she wore in September 2005 at the church wedding with Franjo Pooth (53) in Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
What hardly anyone knew before: Karl Lagerfeld also taught the presenter how to dance the Viennese waltz in the magnificent but very tight robe.
And so Verona now makes a request: “I would be very happy if you would finish what the great master started and dance a Viennese waltz with me again,” she asks her guest Guido.
Of course, Guido can’t refuse her this wish. The two go onto the dance floor and put on an emotional and show-ready Viennese waltz.
It is a homage to Karl Lagerfeld, for whom Guido Maria Kretschmer is sure to have loved to dance at Verona.
