Veronica Maggio performed Saturday night at the music festival Rakettnatt in downtown Tromsø.

According to iTromsø, the artist had to leave the stage during the concert due to safety challenges.

Festival manager Stian Johansen confirms to NRK that the artist aborted the concert just before the end.

Johansen emphasizes that the concert on the festival’s second stage is going as planned. The artist Delara took the stage right before 8 PM.

Work is now underway to resolve the technical challenges on the main stage before the next concert, which is scheduled to start there at 8:45 PM.

– We are confident that we will manage to do that, says Johansen.

NRK’s reporter, who is on site, reports that it seemed like the wind was blowing just behind the stage, in an unfortunate direction right before Maggio had to abort.

According to Nordlys, part of the stage reportedly blew away due to the bad weather. This issue has now been resolved, the festival manager tells the newspaper.

The next artist on the main stage, Bergen artist Gabrielle, took the stage after a slight delay on Saturday night.

Weather Warning

On Saturday, a yellow weather warning for strong wind gusts was issued for parts of Nordland and Troms, writes NTB.

– Very strong winds coming directly from the west will occur. Wind gusts can reach up to 25 to 30 meters per second. The yellow weather warning was issued for the wind gusts. There will also be quite a bit of rain during this period, says meteorologist Håvard Thorset to Lofotposten.

Both Southern and Eastern Norway experienced the storm on Friday, which is the remnants of storm Lillian that has come from the UK.
