The Dutchman won once again this Sunday during the Brazilian GP.
Insatiable Max Verstappen. After the pole on Friday, the sprint on Saturday, the three-time world champion crushed the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday. His 17th success of the season, the 52nd of his career. The Dutchman beat Lando Norris (McLaren) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin).
Chaos at the start, Leclerc out in the warm-up lap
Verstappen on pole with Charles Leclerc at his side on the first row, the start looked promising at Interlagos but the Monegasque never saw it. The reason ? A hydraulic problem on the warm-up lap and a loss of control on the part of the number 16 driver of his Scuderia Ferrari. In the wall during the formation lap, Leclerc was forced to retire and plunged into a nightmare. The start was given, without the Monegasque, and Verstappen managed it perfectly. Norris even better as he moved from sixth to second place, leapfrogging Hamilton and both Aston Martins.
But behind it, there was chaos. Nico Hulkenberg and Alex Albon collided at the first corner causing cascading incidents with Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo. The first two retired and caused the safety car to come out and then the red flag on lap 3. The race was then interrupted around twenty minutes before a new start with Verstappen on pole ahead of Norris and Hamilton.

The second start was still controlled by Verstappen but the Dutchman was quickly put under pressure by Norris on the first laps before flying away definitively to victory. Norris then settled for second place. Behind, there were numerous battles, notably that between Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez for third place, won by Perez. Meanwhile, the Mercedes were in distress with no top speed.
Easy prey for rivals and this even pushed George Russell to retire at the end of the race while Lewis Hamilton was content with eighth place. Unable to keep up with the pace of Pierre Gasly, brilliant 7th, author of a solid race at the wheel of a relentless Alpine in a straight line. Smiles were in order among the Blues as Esteban Ocon finally validated a positive weekend for the blue cars with his tenth place. To be confirmed in two weeks during the very first Las Vegas Grand Prix.
