Very high risk of fire (category 4) on Wednesday 9-8-2023 in P.E. Karpathou – High (category 3) in Rhodes

The Autonomous Directorate of Civil Protection of the South Aegean Region informs that on Wednesday 9-8-2023, according to the Daily Fire Risk Forecast Map drawn up by the Planning and Emergency Response Directorate of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, the risk of fires in the Region South Aegean – P.E. Cyclades & P.E. Karpathos is very high (Risk Category 4) and all relevant services are on high alert.

We kindly ask the citizens and visitors of the South Aegean islands to be especially careful, to avoid any action or work in the open air, which may cause a fire due to negligence, and to immediately notify the Fire Service of any incident that comes to their attention. Also, due to the increased risk of fire and the strong winds that are occurring, we kindly ask the farmers, breeders and beekeepers who are active in the islands of the South Aegean Region – P.E. of Cyclades, to be particularly careful, to comply with what is provided for in the applicable Fire Regulations and to immediately notify the Fire Service of any event that comes to their attention.

For Wednesday 9-8-2023 there will be a ban on the passage, stay and movement of persons and vehicles in NATURA areas, forest ecosystems, parks and groves, as defined in Law 998/1979 (A’ 289) in the areas included in sub no. prot. 62185/447/11-5-2023 (ADA ONZO7ΛX-6ΧΠ) Decision of the Vice-Regional Governor of Cyclades and for the areas of the island of Andros described therein from 2 p.m. until 6 a.m. of the following day.

For Wednesday 9-8-2023 there will be a ban on the passage, stay and movement of persons and vehicles in NATURA areas, forest ecosystems, parks and groves, as defined in Law 998/1979 (A’ 289) in the areas included in sub no. prot. 62185/447/11-5-2023 (ADA 682Γ7ΛΞ-Κ6Β) Decision of the Deputy Governor of Dodecanese and for the areas of the Karpathos-Kasos islands described therein for the whole day.

Also for Wednesday 9-8-2023 there will be a ban on the passage, stay and movement of persons and vehicles in NATURA areas, forest ecosystems, parks and groves, as defined in Law 998/1979 (A’ 289) in the areas included in sub No. prot. 62185/447/11-5-2023 (ADA 682Γ7ΛΞ-Κ6Β) Decision of the Deputy Governor of Dodecanese and for the areas of the islands of P.E. Dodecanese (Rhodes, Symi, Kos, Kalymnos) described in this from 2 p.m. until 6 a.m. of the following day.
