“I know what I have to do… “I will go back to the beginning”
Professional soccer team K-League 1 FC Seoul announced on the 30th that it had recruited Kim Jin-su (32), a former national team defender.
Seoul explained, “Kim Jin-soo decided to accompany Seoul, showing his firm determination to achieve a second leap by joining hands with coach Kim Ki-dong, with whom he has been in a relationship since the under-23 national team.”
He went on to say, “With the addition of Kim Jin-su, we have achieved a more systematic strengthening of our power on the left side,” adding, “We expect that not only will there be harmony between old and new within the team, but we will also gain experience in advanced European soccer.”
Kim Jin-su, who debuted as a professional at Albirex Niigata (Japan) in 2012, moved to Hoffenheim (Germany) in 2014 and experienced the European stage.
In 2017, he transferred to Jeonbuk Hyundai and played an active role as the best side defender in the K League. He left for Al-Nasr (Saudi Arabia) in 2020 and returned to the K-League stage in 2021, and has recorded 9 goals and 18 assists in 160 K-League games until this year.
Kim Jin-su, who was selected to the A national team in 2013, recorded 2 goals and 11 assists in 74 A matches. At the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, he played as a starting left-back and helped Korea advance to the round of 16.
Jinsu Kim said, “It is an honor to join FC Seoul. “I know that there are many fans who always support me passionately, and I know very well what I should do,” he said, adding, “I will go back to the beginning and show you that I will do my best to make the fans happy and happy in the 2025 season.”
