Veteran Malayalam actor GK Pillai passes away

Veteran Malayalam actor GK Pillai passed away today (Dec. 31) at the age of 97. His wife also passed away a few years ago. He has three sons and three daughters. Prior to entering cinema, he served in the Army and Navy.

He made his acting debut in the Malayalam film Sneha Seema in 1957 and has acted in about 325 films so far. GK Pillai co-starred with actor Tilak Shivaji Ganesan in the Malayalam film Tacholi Ambu.

GK Pillai, who is best known for his villainous roles, played the role of Colonel Jagannath Verma in the TV series Kadamattu Kattanar and became very close to every household.
