Them Via Appia became a World Heritage Site. The titles on the UNESCO list were decided today at the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee, meeting in New Delhi. The ‘ Via Appia. Regina Viarum Thus it became the 60th Italian site of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. This is the first candidate promoted directly by the Ministry of Culture, which coordinates all stages of the process and provides all the necessary documentation for the request for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

UNESCO has recognized the universal value of the extraordinary technical work which has been important over the centuries for commercial, social and cultural exchanges with the Mediterranean and the East.
