Vice President discusses with Angolan scientist

Angola News – The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, discussed this Thursday, in Luanda, with the award-winning Angolan scientist Teresa Matoso Manguagua Victor, the production of drugs in the country, taking advantage of the national flora for this purpose.

According to the communiqué that Notícias de Angola had access to today, Teresa Matoso Manguagua Victor, speaking to the press, said that this was the era when Angola could open a pharmaceutical company.

The Angolan scientist said there were raw materials and capable people.

According to the researcher, the Vice-President of the Republic who spoke of a project to collect assets (plants) so that we can produce drugs here in Angola, and expressed the desire to include her in this project.

Teresa Matoso Manguangua Victor, said that the meeting was very productive, stating that the Vice-President of the Republic is a great researcher, emphasizing the feeling that she was in front of someone who we can in the future share several works with.

“As I always liked to emphasize, we must create multisectoral teams to solve the problems we are facing today in the field of scientific research, and that was precisely the idea that the Vice-President emphasized most today, because only with multidisciplinary teams will we be able to solve some of the problems we are debating today in the field of scientific research”, he pointed out.

The researcher, who is also a researcher, expressed the desire to use this experience to disseminate to the world, as a lifetime member of the World Research Council, that Angolans are prepared to carry out scientific research.

He underlined that a country cannot develop without going through scientific research.

The Angolan scientist assured national researchers that the Executive is monitoring all the work carried out in the field of scientific research, said leaving the meeting with the Vice-President convinced that there is political will to develop Angola technologically.

“We have the potential for this and it is by walking that the path is paved. In addition, focus is fundamental for us to develop our country”, she reiterated.

Teresa Matoso recently won the International Award for Innovative Researcher of the Year in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology”, and last year she was awarded the International Award for Best Researcher in the field of Chemical Engineering.
