The objective of the internship program is to provide talented individuals with the opportunity to gain experience within the ILO. By joining our team and working directly with leading professionals and management within the Organization, ILO interns contribute to analytical work related to the Organization’s principles, programs and strategies. They also participate in important meetings and attend high-level conferences.

Candidates are invited to consult the online recruitment platform of the ILO, through the website: , in which 30 internships have been announced. Applications may be submitted electronically, through the online platform, from May 3 to 17, 2023 (until 23:59 PM, CET). The next call for internship applications will take place in October/November 2023.

Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:

studies for a maximum of one year before submitting your candidacy.

  • Have a good knowledge (verbal and written) of at least one of the official languages ​​of the ILO (English, French or Spanish).

  • Be able to adapt to an international, multicultural and multilingual environment, and have good communication skills

NB No age restrictions will be imposed on applicants.

Once the internship application has been submitted, the candidate’s profile will be made available to the ILO departments concerned.

After an initial selection by the Human Resources Development Department (HRD), the departments and/or field offices will pre-select the candidates. Immediately afterwards, the candidates will be contacted directly if their profile corresponds to one of the vacant internships.

Candidates who have not been contacted by the ILO within six months of submitting their candidature should consider that they have not been selected.
