Vice President Kamala Harris Makes Pit Stop at Busy Bee Cafe After FAMU vs Howard Game

After the Florida A&M University Rattlers defeated the Howard University Bison with a final score of 30-26, Vice President Kamala Harris was spotted on the screen smiling and applauding. On her way back to the airport for her return trip, the vice president’s motorcade made a pit stop at the Busy Bee Cafe, a historic soul food restaurant recently honored with a James Beard Foundation Award.

Harris was seen pointing to slices of sweet potato pie on the shelf, expressing her hope to purchase a slice, and mentioning that her sister was craving the restaurant’s banana pudding. Before leaving, she placed orders for her family and staff, including staples like smothered pork chops, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese.

Speaking to gathered reporters before returning to her vehicle, Harris expressed her enjoyment of making trips to Georgia where she can thank voters directly for helping elect her and President Joe Biden in 2020. She also mentioned the impact of their administration’s investments, stating, “President Biden and I have been able to put over $7 billion into our HBCUs. We’ve been installing high-speed internet that is affordable and accessible to all people, including folks who live in rural America and rural Georgia. So, the first thing I wanted to say is thank you to the people of Georgia.”

The vice president’s pit stop at the Busy Bee Cafe added a touch of local flavor to her visit to Georgia, showcasing her appreciation for soul food while also highlighting the administration’s dedication to supporting historically Black colleges and universities and expanding broadband access.
