Vicenza is preparing to welcome the national preview of “La Vita Accanto,” the new film by director Marco Tullio Giordana, filmed right in the Veneto city. The event will take place on Sunday, August 18, at 9 PM, in the enchanting setting of the Chiostri di Santa Corona, as part of the film festival “Cinema sotto le stelle.”

The film, based on the namesake novel by Vicentine writer Mariapia Veladiano, winner of the Calvino Prize and finalist for the Strega Prize, was written by Giordana together with Marco Bellocchio and Gloria Malatesta. The film has already had the honor of being presented out of competition at the Locarno Film Festival, garnering considerable interest.

A prominent cast is one of the film’s strengths. Among the actors are notable names such as Sonia Bergamasco, Valentina Bellè, Paolo Pierobon, Sara Ciocca, and Michela Cescon. Special mention goes to the young professional pianist Beatrice Barison, who performs live pieces in the film, adding a touch of authenticity and refinement to the soundtrack.

Tickets for the preview are already sold out, with 400 seats made available at the Cinema Patronato Leone XIII, an alternative venue in case of bad weather. However, if weather conditions are favorable, the organizers may make additional tickets available for the Chiostri di Santa Corona, which can host up to 500 spectators.

Not just a preview: other screenings are scheduled. The film will be screened again on August 23, 24, and 25 at 9 PM, still as part of “Cinema sotto le stelle.” For all screenings, including the preview event, the special ticket price will be €3.50, thanks to the “Cinema Revolution” promotion, valid for all Italian and European films.
