The man who allegedly defended himself against the attempted robbery will be brought before the police on Saturday.
During the early hours of this Friday, August 23, an alleged assailant died after a shooting.citizen attention in the commune of FloridaAfter that, the case took a turn and arrested a person accused of the crime of homicidewho would be one of the victims of the attempted robbery.
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m., when the alleged assailant (23 years old and of Chilean nationality) approached in a motorcycle that had been reported stolen to a couple who were in Plaza Las Pitras.
After that, the man asked them for a lighter to light a cigarette, to which the young men replied that they did not have one. At this, he took out a firearm and a knife to carry out the alleged assault, which led to a scuffle.
In this scenario, the victim would have managed to subdue the offender and then beat him. Some time later, the man died at La Florida Hospital due to cardiorespiratory arrest.
The Prosecutor’s Office’s investigation into alleged citizen detention
In this context, the Prosecutor’s Office is working to obtain more information on the alleged citizen arrest, considering the possibility that neighbors of the area may have intervened. For now, it is estimated that the couple would have defended themselves from the attack without receiving any help.
Along these lines, the Flagrancy prosecutor of the Metropolitan East Prosecutor’s Office, Patricia Ibarrasaid that “the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating, together with the PDI, the death of a man in the commune of La Florida. According to preliminary information, this would have been caused in the context of a robbery.”
To which he added: “Following the statement of eyewitnesses, A person has been arrested for the murder of this subject and the hearing will be held on Saturday, where all the information gathered during the night and today (Friday) will be presented to the court to request the respective precautionary measures,” he concluded.
