Tijuana, BC.- Following a citizen complaint, municipal police officers rescued a 9-year-old boy who was suffering from violence and neglect.
The events occurred on Friday afternoon at the subdivision Villas del Campoafter an emergency call warning about the presence of a mistreated minor in a home.
The informant described having seen the child leaving home with a chain in his handswhich motivated the municipal agents to come to the place.
Traces of mistreatment
Upon arrival, they found the little boy emotionally affected and with obvious signs of physical abuse.
The police officers proceeded to protect the minor and provide him with immediate assistance. In addition, they coordinated with the Specialized Care Unit for Family and Gender Violence and other competent authorities to channel the child towards comprehensive care.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) assumed the case and will continue with the corresponding investigations to clarify the circumstances of the case.
