Soudal QuickStep prevailed in stage 2 of the 2023 UAE Tour, a 17.3km team time trial starting and finishing at Khalifa Port. Luke Plapp (INEOS) is the new leader of the competition.
Soudal QuickStep beat EF Education by just a second in the CRE of the UAE Tour. INEOS completed the podium by three seconds, while Bahrain followed by four and Jayco by five. The rest of the formations signed sheets in double digits.
In the end, there were sixteen teams in just 34″ and few differences were marked.
In the individual classification Plapp now leads, but Evenepoel has the same time, with Arndt three seconds behind closing the drawer. Tomorrow stage 3 will be held, one of the two mountain stages of this edition. It will consist of 185 kilometers between Umbrella Beach Al Fujairah and the high end of Jebel Jais.
