Today (Friday) the prestigious tournament in memory of Walter Bensman began in Nuremberg, Germany, in which the first group of boys participates. The morning began when all the teams participating in the tournament took part in enrichment workshops dealing with Judaism, the Holocaust and anti-Semitism. After that, the teams went to the training complex of the German soccer club Nuremberg, where the tournament games were held.
Our A group of boys, who were drawn to house A together with Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Nürnberg, met Bayern for the opening game. The Yellows impressed in the game and achieved a prestigious victory 0:2 thanks to goals from Yoav Fleishman and Veido Oli. Later in the day the trainees of Zion Cohen and Jeffrey Yishai met the London team, this time Maccabi surrendered 0:3 to Chelsea. Tomorrow the meeting will take place against the third opponent at home Nürnberg, who won 1:3 against the Bavarians. A victory for Maccabi will guarantee a place in the semi-finals that will take place later today. Bologna, Eintracht Frankfurt, Krakow Krakow and Karlsruhe play in the corresponding house (B).

After the games of all the participants were over, the organizers of the tournament together with the organization of Maccabi Germany held a special and exciting Shabbat reception. The meaning of Shabbat was explained to the groups and after that a kiddush took place according to the best tradition. At the end, the groups ate traditional Jewish food.
