“Vida a la vida” is the tribute album to Santiago Feliú that competes for several nominations for the next Cubadisco awards of the Cuban music industry. The phonogram is produced by Nelson Vila, and several Cuban musicians participate in it, paying homage to Feliú through the reinterpretation of his songs.

In 1986 Vila decided to produce the first record made by the legendary Cuban troubadour, which was called “Vida”. Now to celebrate what would have been the six decades of Santiago Feliú’s life, this new phonogram sees the light. It has nominations in the Trova category, Cover Design and in the Anthology/Versions section.

For this tribute album, the music producer brought together several Cuban composers, including Kelvis Ochoa, David Torrens, Rochy, Pablo Milanés and William Vivanco, who interprets the iconic song “Para Bárbara” accompanied by the Lyceum Mozartiano Symphony Orchestra from Havana, directed by José Antonio Méndez and arranged by Jorge Aragón.

The album has the same songs from the “Vida” album, but in this case with new arrangements and with these guest artists. According to the musician’s official page, “this album is the tribute that Nelson wanted to pay to whoever he was and will always be his friend.” The executive production was in charge of Josué García.

For those who love Cuban music and specifically the work of Feliú together with the group of Cuban performers who pay homage to him in this musical production, the album is available on various digital platforms.

At the time of its launch, last year, Nelson Vila expressed: “There are dead, who give light of life and here I try to retouch and revive those friends who draw suns, with loves from other times, with many anxieties and urgency. of beauty and, above all, to that intrinsic need of Santi, that convincing and beautiful way of giving life to life”.
