The Ankara Security Directorate announced that three suspects, including a bazaar guard and two police officers, were arrested. The statement on the Ankara Security Directorate’s social media account read as follows:
“On August 24, 2023, at around 6:30 a.m., after the news center received a report of a fight, police units went to the scene and immediately arrested three people in plain clothes, including a bazaar guard and two police officers who were in in a drunken state at the exit of the entertainment center, verbally and physically attacking women passing by and firing shots into the air. A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated against the named persons; they have been suspended from duty and will be brought to justice” (yenivatan.at, DHA).
