A plane carrying 297 passengers had to be evacuated from Peshawar airport in Pakistan after one of the plane’s tires caught fire.

To save both passengers and crew, authorities had to act immediately.

The incident reportedly occurred on the morning of July 11, when a Saudi Airlines plane began emitting smoke from one of its tires, causing alarm among passengers.

After this, the airline stated

“Saudi Airlines clarifies that its aircraft, which was flying from Riyadh to Peshawar (…) experienced smoke emanating from one of the tires during landing at Peshawar International Airport in Pakistan.”

In images and videos circulating on social networks, it can be seen how the officers proceeded to evacuate all the passengers (276) and crew (21) through the inflatable evacuation slide, to “flee” the scene while the aircraft was covered in smoke.

On the other hand, the spokesman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan said that “the firefighters acted in time and immediately controlled the fire in the landing gear, which saved the plane from a serious accident.”

Likewise, it was reported that after the incident, the plane is under technical evaluation by the specialist team.
