Even adults have tried to pass the door of Christian Spitz’s office since his recent installation as a pediatrician in Salbris (41). “It’s a terrible medical desert”, notes the former host of Fun Radio, happy to relieve three and a half days a week the only general practitioner installed in this small town of 5,356 inhabitants in the heart of Sologne.

An arrival which is also delighted with Stéphane, owner of the Brasserie de Salbris, who knows the pediatrician as “the Doc” of Lovin’Fun, a program broadcast in the 1990s where Christian Spitz, accompanied by Difool, answered questions from teenagers about sexuality, love but also everyday problems. “I grew up with it, it was a very affordable way for teenagers to talk about subjects that parents don’t talk about,” remarks the 49-year-old boss who remembers the shaggy hair of the “doc”.

In the office’s waiting room, Stéphanie, 33, “too young” to know Lovin’Fun, does not appreciate the arrival of the pediatrician any less. “It feels so good, a week ago, I took my son to the emergency room in Vierzon because he had tumbled down the stairs (…) Vierzon is half an hour away but it’s far for an emergency” , insists the resident of Salbris.

Between two consultations, the doctor assures “not wanting to stop working” and admits that he will soon resume service on the radio to animate a weekly program of advice to parents, this time. “What’s funny is that today’s parents are often the teenagers I was talking to twenty years ago”, does not fail to underline Christian Spitz, with a smile on his face.
