STORY: Kick-off at the federal party conference of the Greens on Friday in Bonn. Three days are planned for the meeting on the Rhine. The motto is: “When our world is in question: Answer”. The delegate Jutta Fritzsche with her expectations on Friday in Bonn: “Yes, the topics are indeed nuclear energy and the war. It really says in the Greens’ paper that we are not going to war, that we are very sensitive to the topic Avoid war and that we don’t deal with arms deliveries and the like, that’s what the paper said. And I have a very, very big problem that what we have made the rule for us diverges from what we do.” Before the party congress, there was a demonstration. It was about a core issue of the Greens. Namely the nuclear phase-out. Julian Bothe from the anti-nuclear initiative “Broadcast”: “Nuclear power is not necessary for security of supply. The dangers of nuclear power are systematically ignored in the current debate. Just a few days ago, a leading Bundeswehr general said: ‘ Every power plant – also in Germany – can be a victim of sabotage. It is completely absurd to let the nuclear power plants run longer in this situation. In all three German nuclear power plants there are cracks and cracks are suspected. They are decades old, they have been for years worn out. It is completely absurd to let them continue to run now. And, as I said, they are not necessary for the energy supply in Germany.” So there is some need for discussion and for the Greens it is the first face-to-face federal party conference in three years and since participation in the current federal government due to the corona.
