“I want Dominique to be remembered, because he deserves it,” explains Philippe, one of Dominique Bernard’s colleagues from the Gambetta high school, killed Friday by Mohammed Mogouchkov, 20, within the establishment. “For me, he is not dead,” continues this mathematics teacher who knew the victim well. Like Philippe, there were several dozen students, parents, teachers and residents of Arras who came, the day after the attack, to place a white rose in front of the entrance to the establishment in tribute to the French teacher.
“His act saved people,” says David, father of Valentin, who attends 6th grade in the Carnot-Gambetta school center. For the father of this schoolboy, the teacher’s gesture is “heroic”. “He is a courageous man whose example must be followed,” said this official.
