VIDEO. “I am a human being !” : Sanna Marin on the verge of tears during a press conference

On the verge of tears, Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin almost broke down nervously on Wednesday at an event organized by her Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Lahti, southern Finland.

” I am a human being. I sometimes also yearn for joy, light and pleasure in the midst of these dark clouds,” she said, her voice shaking. “I can honestly say that this past week has not been the easiest of my life. In fact, it was quite difficult. And despite that, I want to believe and believe that people will watch what we do at work rather than what we do in our free time,” the 37-year-old head of state said, her eyes misty. “But I haven’t missed a single day of work. I didn’t leave a single task unfinished. And I won’t, even in the midst of all of this, because all of these things will pass,” she added.

Some have criticized her for inappropriate behavior on the part of a Prime Minister, suspecting her of having taken drugs. To “dispel any suspicion”, Sanna Marin took a screening test last week, which turned out to be negative.
