They are out in the middle of the night. In Argenteuil, fathers and mothers have done their utmost to protect their vehicles from damage. “They set fire to the garbage room in the building so I came to see my car. I work in cleaning, I need it, ”says a resident of Val d’Argenteuil when asked about her presence in the midst of tensions. “You know what I did? I took the car and went to park it in the hospital,” advises a neighbor who has come out to assess the seriousness of the situation in the neighborhood.

For the third consecutive night, the city of Val-d’Oise was the scene of clashes between a few dozen rioters and the police. “Yesterday was crazy. I haven’t felt well for several days. I’m too scared, ”says the lady who is trying to protect her vehicle.

“The protest is clumsy but the cause is just,” reflects a young man who observes the violence from afar. “Argenteuil has tens of thousands of inhabitants and 100 or 200 thugs.
