In “Acid”, which is released in theaters this Wednesday, Guillaume Canet finds himself confronted with an environmental catastrophe, the consequences of climate change, in the guise of Michal, a harsh and solitary character. To better embody the character, Guillaume Canet imagined himself as a wounded bear and admits to having been “a little in (his) corner during filming” to get closer to “the solitude of the character”.

A family story, the backdrop of which is an ecological catastrophe which echoes the concerns of Guillaume Canet. “I am very alarmist, alert and worried but I am not pessimistic,” explains the actor and director. “I think that with great will, cohesion, consistency, complicity from everyone, I hope, I would like us to be able to reverse the curve, the trend. And sort out what we screwed up in a very short time. If we were able to screw it up at this speed, we might also be able to rebuild it as quickly as that. Although scientists are very pessimistic”
