Famous South filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj celebrated his 38th birthday on Thursday, March 14 and celebrated the special day with some friends. In the photos surfaced online, it can be seen that Lokesh hosted a party, but a grand cake was also arranged for the special night. Director-writer Ratna Kumar shared several pictures from the party on Twitter. The photos revealed that a three-tier cake had come for Lokesh and it also had cutouts of some guns. The cake also featured the Batman logo, the words ‘DC’ and ‘LCU’, hinting towards Lokesh’s cinematic universe. Apart from Ratna, actor Arjun Das also attended the party. The actor has worked with Lokesh Kanagaraj in ‘Kaithi’. He played the role of Ambu Das and was also seen reprising his role in Vikram. While sharing the pictures, Ratna wrote, ‘Happy Birthday Da. Love you so much @Dir_Lokesh. Ven Sivakarthikeyan was also present at the party. A picture of her and Lokesh surfaced online.
Lokesh is making ‘Thalaivar 171’
On the work front, Lokesh Kanagaraj is gearing up for his new project, titled ‘Thalaivar 171’, in which he will be seen working with superstar Rajinikanth. The director recently revealed that the film will be an action-drama, which will add something new to his cinematic performance.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo’
Kanagaraj had worked with Thalapathy Vijay in his previous film ‘Leo’. This film was well received and emerged as one of the biggest releases of 2023. It featured a stellar cast including Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Mysskin. ‘Leo’ premiered on October 19, 2023, achieving massive success. Despite a budget of Rs 250 crore, the film grossed Rs 600 crore, making it the second highest-grossing Tamil film of the year and the highest-grossing Tamil film internationally.
