Israeli warplanes launched a raid, the first since the beginning of the war on Lebanon, on a residential apartment in the town of Eto – Zgharta District, causing the death of more than 18 citizens.
The Lebanese Red Cross announced, “18 people were killed and 4 wounded in an Israeli raid that targeted a house housing displaced people in the town of Ayto, northern Lebanon.”
The Secretary-General of the Red Cross said, “In a preliminary tally, there are 17 martyrs and their body parts, which makes the estimates at least 18 martyrs.”
LBCI channel said, “The targeted house in Eto is rented by a correspondent for the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar channel,” noting that “the building includes 4 apartments inhabited by more than 20 people.” Then it came back and said that the “Al-Manar” correspondent had nothing to do with it. The tenant’s name is Ahmed Fakih, and he is from the southern town of Aitaroun.”
For its part, “Voice of Lebanon” radio reported that “the house contains 25 people, and includes a Hezbollah leader and his family, and the person responsible is a jurist.”
In this context, Jordanian King Abdullah II warned during his meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati in Amman today, “that the continuation of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon will push the region into a regional war with great costs.”
King Abdullah affirmed, “Jordan’s absolute support for Lebanon and its brotherly people and support for its sovereignty, security and stability,” and stressed “the Kingdom’s readiness to provide aid to our Lebanese brothers, to alleviate their suffering as a result of the ongoing war.”
King Abdullah explained, “Jordan is making the utmost efforts in coordination with our Arab brothers and active countries to stop the Israeli war on Lebanon, warning of the continuation and expansion of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which will push the region into a regional war that will have great costs for everyone.”
In turn, Mikati expressed his appreciation to the King of Jordan for Jordan’s standing by Lebanon at all stages, especially the efforts it is making to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and its people, and the price of the support that the Kingdom provides through the air bridge between Amman and Beirut to provide relief to those displaced as a result of the Israeli war on Lebanon. “.
