In view of the Omikron variant, the government is setting up a new “nationwide Covid crisis coordination”, or “GECKO” for short. Major General Rudolf Striedinger and Katharina Reich, Director General for Public Health, are to act as crisis managers at the top – the team will be introducing itself on Saturday at a press conference, which can be seen here in the livestream!
