Israel launched violent raids on the southern suburb of Beirut, where the echo of the bombing reached the heart of Beirut. According to information, this bombing was greater than the one carried out by Israel to assassinate Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.
A field source told Sputnik: “Israeli warplanes targeted with heavy guided missiles several areas in the southern suburb of Beirut.”
The source added, “The targeting was the most violent in terms of size and destructive capacity, as a mass of fire spread in the air, and the sounds of repeated violent explosions were heard.”
He pointed out that “the targeting method is similar to, or may exceed in severity, the targeting that occurred during the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.”
Channel 14 and the Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” indicated that “the attack that targeted the southern suburb of Beirut at dawn today, Friday, was intended to kill Hashem Safi al-Din, the potential successor to Hassan Nasrallah.”
Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee published a map identifying a residential building located in the Hadath area in Beirut, calling for “the immediate evacuation of it and the buildings adjacent to it, in preparation for its bombing.”
The Axios website, citing two Israeli sources, said, “The violent raids on the southern suburb of Beirut, at dawn on Friday, targeted Hashem Safi al-Din, the potential successor to the late Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.”
Barak Ravid added, “Hashem Safi al-Din “stayed inside Hezbollah’s deepest hideout,” and confirmed in a blog post on his page on the “X” platform that “the results of the attack are still unclear.”
The scene became greatly tense against the backdrop of the killing of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.
On Thursday evening, the Israeli army announced the assassination of Muhammad Youssef Oneissi, who held a high position in the Hezbollah Military Equipment Production Directorate, in a bombing that targeted Beirut.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced, “37 people were killed and 151 wounded during the Israeli bombing of Lebanon during the past 24 hours.”
