Chloé came to celebrate what should have been the union of her best friend and her partner, scheduled for October 7. It was around 7 a.m. that she heard the rockets fired by Hamas towards Israel. Taking refuge in Tel Aviv with locals, she protests at the lack of reaction in France. “I, like all the French people we met here, are very angry,” she says, “because France is doing nothing to repatriate us. The Portuguese, the Poles, the Italians… Their countries give them information. Us, nothing. We feel abandoned. »

His return flight is scheduled for October 12 but, for the moment, no news from the airlines. This is why the young woman hopes for a quick reaction from the government: “France decrees that the situation is not dangerous enough to justify repatriation. But rockets fell 200 m from where we live. The situation is believed to be dangerous enough to declare a state of war crisis. » In the meantime, she only goes out to do her shopping in the deserted streets of Tel Aviv, where “there was a real excitement, songs, dances” a few days earlier. “The locals are saddened to see Tel Aviv in this state, the situation is exceptional, they tell us that it is not Israel,” she says.

And to continue: “We are lucky because we are safer in Tel Aviv, there are a lot of air forces, the city is more protected. And anyway, it would take us more than half an hour by taxi to reach the airport, it’s too risky. » And above all not recommended. On site, videos shared on social networks show long queues to get a flight, a flight which is often uncertain. Lufthansa has canceled its routes until at least Monday to reach Paris, Air France is also suspending its traffic in the area “until further notice”. Only tickets from the El Al company remain, which at least allow you to reach Europe, “but they are taken by storm in a few minutes” says the young woman.
