The video of a Citroën Ami overturning in the curve has been around the world on TikTok. Tikokers also organize live to share the most beautiful cars they observe in the bend. “We see it everywhere on the networks,” exclaims Amber, a Belgian tourist, who came with her Formula 1 fan boyfriend.
“I film to put the videos on Youtube”, explains Alex, 19, who has just “spotted” a Subaru Impreza. Alex and his brother are “car spotters”, they try to film the rarest cars possible when they walk down the street. Like them, the Belgian Jens is on vacation in Monaco especially to practice car spotting. He and his brother post their best takes on their YouTube channel, ExoticCarspotters, which has over 500,000 subscribers.
This practice is far from displeasing to motorists. “It’s legendary and it’s the road where everyone spots the beautiful cars, so it makes us happy to be there”, recognizes David at the wheel of his Porsche 992 4S cabriolet, “but we are mostly taken on video to the dog”, jokes his partner Florence, pointing to the little ball of hair that sticks out its head above the door.
