More than 100 children, including tribal children from villages around the Isha Yoga Center, performed ‘Vidyarambam’ at Lingabhairavi today (October 5), Vijayadashami day.
In our Indian culture it is customary for children who want to learn education and various arts to perform ‘Vidyarambam’ on Vijayadashami day. Accordingly, in a program held this evening at Lingabhairavi in Isha, children from various villages including Mullangadu, Muttatthuyal, Semmedu, Irutupallam, Narasipuram, Alandarai, Boluvampatti, Kalampalayam performed Vidyarambam in the presence of Goddess Lingabhairavi.
Isha Outreach provides various assistance for the educational development of the children living in the surrounding villages. 69 tribal children are getting fully free education in the Isha Vidya Matriculation School functioning at Sakkavundampalayam.
Also, Isha provides daily free transportation facility to tribal children studying in government schools and educational assistance to children studying in government aided schools and colleges. It is significant that hundreds of economically backward children are benefiting from this.
