Anyone who wants to travel through the inner districts from Friday evening to Sunday evening needs one thing above all: patience Waiting times must be planned for.
Ring closure: Friday to Sunday
From Friday, 8 p.m., on Vienna Ring between Stadiongasse and Schottengasse nothing more. This part of the main inner-city artery will be closed to traffic until Sunday at 8 p.m., i.e. for exactly two days.

The good news: Apart from a few exits and entrances, the urban motorways and expressways A1, A2, A4, A22, A23 as well as S1 and S2 are always unobstructed.
Airport entrances
The western entrance is free, so access to the airport from the west is possible via Hietzinger Kai, Schönbrunner Schloßstraße, Grüner Berg and Altmannsdorfer Straße to the Tangente and Ost Autobahn (A4).
Coming from the south you can take the S1. From districts 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, and 22 go over the Nord- or Floridsdorfer Bridge – A22 – A23. In the city center, the ÖAMTC recommends the Handelskai as an alternative route.

Vienna City Marathon: 500 officers on duty
500 officers alone will ensure the safety of the more than 40,000 participants and tens of thousands of spectators along the route, as well as plenty of undercover investigators. Terror alert level 2 still applies.
