VIENNA. Vienna SPÖ is leaving the SPÖ party headquarters on Löwelstraße. Vienna SPÖ first moves to Vienna’s famous party center Löwelstraße and plans to find its new headquarters in the workers’ district Favoriten by 2026. This decision was announced by Mayor Michael Ludwig in a press release.
Regarding the new development, which he announced to the public in a press release, the Mayor of Vienna said: „We are turning a completely new page and moving from Löwelstraße to the ‚Solidarity Fortress in Arbeiterheim Favoriten. With the ‘red house’ in Vienna’s tenth district, we could not have wished for a better and more important successor position for social democracy.“
According to Ludwig, the new party center will feature modern new workspaces as well as an innovation center with seminar rooms, archive, study spaces and dining and event spaces. Vienna SPÖ Provincial Party Secretary Barbara Novak stated that the relocation is planned after the next provincial elections in 2026 and continued: “It is important to me that our employees have the best working conditions in the future. The common meeting areas, the space to be opened to members, staff, volunteers and activists, formed the basis of the location decision. Until the relocation, renovation works will be carried out in the new place in accordance with the protection of historical monuments.“
