The second edition of “Vieste in Love” has begun, the festival on the theme of love that until Sunday 12 September will make the town of Cristalda and Pizzomunno a little big universe of hearts and romance. And in a broader sense, how they fly a deep feeling towards the territory and the environment, people and animals, art, territory, culture and music.
The installation
In the exceptional setting of Marina Piccola, the light installation «Man» by Amanda Parer was inaugurated, inspired by the famous «Thinker» by Rodin. A mammoth figure intent on deep reflection. The message of the organizers is clear: in the face of the problems and contradictions of a life that risks losing the deepest meaning of things, thought is almost an anchor of salvation. And if this is true in general, all the more so when the sentiment of love rises on the stage.
The initiative
The event, wanted by the Municipality of Vieste and organized by the company Studio360 of Molfetta, will continue in these days with a series of appointments. «Vieste in Love is one of the most important projects of the summer – explains the mayor Giuseppe Nobiletti – a cycle of events that we care a lot about because it extends our season, attracts many tourists from all over the world and makes the Viestani protagonists. It will be a week full of initiatives and surprises ».
The program
Vanni Oddera, an acrobatic motorcyclist who communicated his love for sport, performed on Monday. A sport intended as an instrument of social integration, given that among the various exhibitions there were also some of “mototherapy”. A day entirely dedicated to the world of dogs is scheduled for Tuesday. Vieste, notoriously “pet friendly”, will host hours of great participation and involvement of dog lovers. In the company of Edoardo Stoppa, agility dog, obedience, rally obedience competitions are planned. Wednesday will be the turn of “Vieste en Rose”, a food and wine festival that will transform the historic center into an extraordinary showcase for Apulian rosé wines.
The other manifestations
Magic will be the leitmotif of the events scheduled for 9 September. With “Wonderland” the nineteenth-century district of Vieste will be the enchanted kingdom of activities dedicated to children, but also to adults. On 10 September space for music with the “Vieste Music Festival”, dedicated to local talents, and “Terrazze sonore”, with an orchestra spread over the balconies of the historic center. Then the grand finale with the events of 11 and 12 September. The International Argentine Tango Festival is scheduled for Saturday. Sunday will make Rimbamband’s performance laugh and smile.
