Vietnam’s top libero, Khánh Đang, is leaving the VTV Bình Điền Long An Club after a decade of service, opening the door to a potential move to Hanoi FC and shaking up the landscape of Vietnamese women’s volleyball.

A Decade of Dedication Ends, New Chapter Begins

Khánh Đang’s departure marks the end of an era for the Mekong Delta team and signals a potential power shift in the national championship.

  • Khánh Đang’s contract with VTV Bình Điền Long An expired on December 31, and she will not be returning.
  • Negotiations are underway with Hanoi FC, a newly ambitious team in the 2026 national championship.
  • Hanoi FC is assembling a “dream team” with significant financial investment, aiming to challenge established powerhouses.

The 2000-born Khánh Đang, known for her lightning reflexes, fiery temperament, and tactical acumen, has been a mainstay for the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team for the past two years. While VTV Bình Điền Long An hoped to retain her services, they respected her decision to explore new opportunities, according to sources. The move to Hanoi FC, a newcomer to the 2026 national championship, appears increasingly likely, with an agreement expected in the coming days.

Hanoi FC’s Ambitious Plans

Hanoi FC isn’t stopping at Khánh Đang. The club is reportedly close to securing agreements with Vi Thị Như Quỳnh and Lê Thanh Thúy, alongside two or three other players, signaling a major investment in building a championship-contending roster. The capital team aims to compete with established teams like VTV Bình Điền Long An, Ninh Bình, and Information Corps.

What makes Hanoi FC’s strategy unique? Their significant financial backing allows them to attract top talent, potentially reshaping the competitive balance of Vietnamese volleyball.
