On Saturday evening, ZDF will be showing a new edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”. Andrea Berg will also be a guest – and she raised questions right from the start.
“The Giovanni Zarrella Show” was actually supposed to start at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday evening. However, due to the knife attack in Solingen, in which three people died, ZDF changed the program at short notice. And so Giovanni Zarrella only welcomed the audience to the summer party in Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle ten minutes later.
Before the presenter brought his first guests on stage, the musician spoke about the attack at the city festival in Solingen. “I cannot and do not want to ignore that,” said Giovanni Zarrella, visibly moved. Together with the team and the other artists, he considered what they should do. “And we agree: the answer to such things is always love.”
“We’ll forget the stress, we’ll forget the worries and have three wonderful hours,” said the 46-year-old and announced the first act. “We’ll start with a dear, dear friend who I love for her big heart.” Then Andrea Berg took the stage and performed her song “Never Say Never”.
The audience in Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle jumped up from their seats, applauded, swayed to the beat, and sang along. The audience in front of the screens, however, was confused during the pop singer’s performance. While Andrea Berg performed her song in black glitter pants and a yellow butterfly top, a lot of irritated comments were collected on X.
“Andrea Berg so early?” asked one user. “Is her plane leaving soon?” This viewer had similar words: “Andrea Berg right at the beginning? Does she have to get on the plane right away or what?” Another user was also surprised by the 58-year-old’s appearance right at the start of the show: “Oops, Berg already now and not at the finale?”
Andrea Berg is one of the biggest stars in the pop scene. In shows, the “Du hast mich tausendmal belogen” singer is usually given an appearance at the end so that the audience stays tuned until the end. This time Andrea Berg was brought forward, but this will not be her only appearance in the latest edition of the “Giovanni Zarrella Show”. “We’ll see Andrea again soon – with new music, a premiere and of course with a big, big hit medley” – and ZDF will definitely show that at the end of the show.
