Ajith starrer Thadvu and Vijay starrer Warisu released today.
Ajith and Vijay are leading actors in Tamil film industry. Eight years after the release of Jilla-Veeram, Ajith-Vijay starrer films released today. With no other film releasing in Tamil for Pongal this year, Thadvu-Varisu was in direct competition. In this, the special screening of Thadvu started at midnight and the special screening of Warisu started at 4 am.
Vijay and Ajith fans flocked to various theaters as the new movies of both the leading actors were released on the same day. The fans welcomed both the films by making banners and postures.
As the special screening of Ajith starrer Thadhavu was screened at 1 midnight, Ajith fans even started in theaters from last night. To welcome the premiere, they garlanded Ajith’s banners, performed milk abhishekam, performed special pujas, and burst firecrackers and fireworks.

Some of the fans gathered at the Rohini Theater in Koyambhet, Chennai were chanting Vijay fans as Thalapathy and Ajith fans as Thala and AK. At one point, the banners of Ajith and Vijay placed in the theater were torn and there was a scuffle between the fans on both sides. Following an unusual situation in the theatre, the police resorted to batons and brought the situation under control.

Ajith fan dies
At Rohini Theater in Coimbatore, Chennai, Thadvu was screened at 1:00 AM and Warisuth at 4:00 AM. After that, fans of both sides gathered in large numbers. A fan of actor Ajith, who came last night, was engaged in dancing and celebrating with other fans. 19-year-old Bharat Kumar from Ritchie Street, Sindagiripet, Chennai, who was involved in the celebration, jumped on the container lorry that was passing through the road and danced.
Bharat Kumar jumped off a container lorry while dancing and fell and was hit on the back. Bharat Kumar was immediately taken to the Kilpakkam Government Hospital and the doctors who examined him said that he had suffered a spinal cord injury and needed treatment. It has been announced from the hospital that Bharat Kumar died this morning while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The sudden death of a young man who came to watch the film has shocked Ajith fans. The Koyambedu Traffic Investigation Division police have registered a case in connection with his death.

Similarly, a special screening of Ajith’s film Thadvu was to be screened at 1 midnight at Archana-Darsana Theater located on Poo Market Road, Coimbatore. Hundreds of fans had gathered in front of the theater. The police tried to control the crowd with batons. At one point the fans broke the theater door and entered the theatre. The glass in the facade and the stair railings were broken in the stampede. Some fans suffered skull fractures and blood injuries due to continuous baton and crowding by the police.

Actor Vijay’s Warisu movie was screened in two theaters in Mayiladuthurai, his fans knelt down at the theater door, anointed Vijay’s statue with milk and garlanded it to celebrate.
