“Vijay has such respect there… This is the mistake Tamil actors make” – K.Rajan | Producer K Rajan speaks about issues in Vijay’s Vairsu Puthiyathalaimurai – Tamil News | Latest Tamil News | Tamil News Online

Producer K. Rajan, during a press conference yesterday, spoke about the discrimination happening in the allocation of theaters for Varis in Andhra Pradesh. Here is the full transcript of what he said:

“It is a lie that Ajith’s Thadhavu film is being allocated a lot of theaters in Tamil Nadu. 50% theaters for Vijay’s successor and 50% theaters for Ajith’s Thadhavu will be allocated in Tamil Nadu. Vijay’s theater problem is only in Andhra Pradesh. We cannot blame Andhra owners in this regard. Because they only care about their workers. That’s what’s going down. We have a duty to protect our workers. This is where we have to put all the competition.

When Vijay’s previous film Beast released, KGF from Kannada also released here. How much theater did we give it? Have we given the KGF a theater like that? If so, how can we expect to get half a theater in Andhra Pradesh now?

Balakrishna’s film is released there. So they give priority to that. There is so much respect for Vijay there. Another thing about this is that Vaarisi is not directly shot in Telugu. It’s going to be a dubbing film. So they will still work on the theatrical scale given to the dubbing film.

Tamil actors should act in the films of Tamil producers. Without that, Telugu producers are pretending to get a few crores extra. Succession has also happened in the same way. Now Vijay would have got an additional salary of Rs 25 crore in a single film. So he would have raised his salary scale.

Sivakarthikeyan also did the same in Prince. Sivakarthikeyan, good brother… I have no fault with him. But if he casts a Telugu producer like this, is it an additional burden for the producer who books him next? Same goes for Vijay.

By doing this, Telugu producers are increasing the problem of producers here. Make films with Telugu actors as they will cooperate well with Telugu producers. I request Tamil actors to act in films for the sake of Tamil workers.

What has happened so far in the succession dispute?

Vijay, Rashmika Mandhana, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha, Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Sham, Prakashraj, Khushbu, Jayasudha and many other stars are acting in this bilingual film titled ‘Varisu’ in Tamil and ‘Varasudu’ in Telugu and directed by Telugu director Vamsi Baidipalli. Produced by Telugu producer Dil Raju, the film is composed by Thaman. It has been officially announced that it will be released in theaters on the occasion of Pongal festival.

However, the Telugu Film Producers Association had passed a resolution saying, “In order to save the Telugu film industry, during the festivals of Sankranti and Dussehra, there is a decision to give priority to only live Telugu films in theaters. So distributors should follow this decision.” Due to this, there was a problem in Andhra and Telangana in releasing the movie ‘Varisu’ during the Pongal festival.

Following this, Naam Tamilar Party coordinator Seeman, directors Lingusamy, Paramuru and actor Ganja Karupu spoke in support of Vijay. Kattam had said that if Vijay’s film ‘Varisu’ in Telugu is not released during the Pongal festival, it will be after ‘Varisu’ and before ‘Varisu’.

In this case, the monthly executive committee meeting of the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Association was held yesterday. After that, Tamil Nadu Film Producers Association President Thenandal Films Murali said, “There has been a resolution there that Tamil films should not be released in Telugu during the festival days. The Telugu Film Producers Association has told them that they should give priority only to direct Telugu films. A film that crosses language boundaries should be taken back. Cinema is art and we have told them not to separate it as a language issue considering it to be for a state.

We have discussed this issue at length. They have said that they will take back what they said in this regard. Also, the Telugu Film Producers Association should withdraw the resolution. We have decided to send a letter stating that we should not be made to take such a decision and have passed a resolution.

From what they spoke to us, ‘Varisu’ will have no problems. They have assured that the producers’ union will review the demands and release without any problems. Chiranjeevi and Balayya are releasing on Sankranti. In our town, we give importance to our heroes in theaters on festival days. They have said the same there. But what they say is wrong. We have also informed them,” he said.
