Mumbai: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has withdrawn from the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Baroda star Hardik has withdrawn from the tournament as part of a drive to regain fitness. Hardik is trying to get back into the national team in a way that he can bowl.

The player is training in Mumbai. After undergoing surgery on his back in 2019, Pandya has not been able to regain full fitness. He was later dropped from the Indian team. Despite being part of the team for the T20 World Cup, the star could not do much.

Earlier, the Mumbai Indians had not retained the star either. Later, Hardik hinted that there would be no return to the Mumbai team. In an emotional post posted on Instagram sharing his memories with the Mumbai team, Hardik said that all good things have an end.

The general assessment is that the recent poor form and injury has led Mumbai to the decision to drop Hardik. Mumbai Indians have retained captain Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumra, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard at the end of the season.

Zaheer Khan, the Mumbai team’s director of cricket operations, has said he plans to recoup at least three of the missing players in the IPL mega star auction, but there are indications that Hardik will not return. There are reports that Hardik will be joining the Lucknow team where KL Rahul is expected to captain the team.
