Vijayakanth’s Health Deteriorates, Undergoing Intensive Treatment at Chennai’s Myatt Hospital

Chennai: DMDK leader Vijayakanth’s health, who has been undergoing treatment at the Myatt Hospital, has deteriorated. According to reports, doctors are giving him intensive care as he battles with health issues.

Vijayakanth has been resting at home for a few years and has refrained from participating in party and public functions due to his ill health. In addition, he did not contest in the last assembly election. Photos of him with his family are occasionally posted on social media.

In recent times, he has undergone a kidney transplant and has been visiting the hospital for regular check-ups. Last year in July, he also had one of his toes removed due to blood circulation issues caused by his diabetes.

His health took a turn for the worse recently when he developed cough, fever, and cold due to the monsoon season. He was subsequently admitted to Chennai Myatt Hospital on the 18th and has been under intensive care since then.

The hospital’s Managing Director, Prithvi Mohandas, issued a press release yesterday stating, “Vijayakanth’s health is slowly improving. However, he still requires pulmonary treatment as his condition has not yet stabilized. We are hopeful for his quick recovery, but he will need continuous treatment for the next 14 days.”

In a video released last night by DMDK Treasurer Premalatha, she reassured supporters by stating that the hospital’s report on Vijayakanth’s health is routine and there is no need for alarm. She confidently expressed that Vijayakanth will soon recover and return home, urging people not to believe any rumors circulating about his health.

The news of Vijayakanth’s deteriorating health has left his supporters and well-wishers concerned, with many hoping for his speedy recovery.
