Vikings to Sign RB Myles Gaskin, Waive WR Jalen Reagor
Wednesday morning brought exciting news for Minnesota Vikings fans as it was announced that the team will be signing running back Myles Gaskin. However, this addition raised questions about who the Vikings would be cutting from the roster to make room for Gaskin.
Adam Schefter of ESPN has now delivered the answer to that question. According to Schefter, the Vikings are planning to waive wide receiver Jalen Reagor on Tuesday to accommodate Gaskin’s signing.
Last year, the Vikings acquired Reagor in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. As a 2020 first-round pick, Reagor has a guaranteed salary of just over $2.4 million for this season. Unfortunately for him, it seems the Vikings have decided to part ways with the young wide receiver.
During his time with Minnesota, Reagor played in every game last year and showcased his skills with eight catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, he proved his versatility by averaging 6.4 yards on 26 punt returns.
With Reagor’s departure, the Vikings’ receiving corps will now rely on Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, K.J. Osborn, Jalen Nailor, and Brandon Powell. These wideouts will have to step up to fill the void left by Reagor’s departure.
