Chennai: ‘Dagaru’ is a 2018 Kannada film directed by Dunia Suri starring Shivraj Kumar. The film is currently being remade in Tamil as ‘Raid’. It stars Vikram Prabhu, Sridivya and Anantika. SK Kanishk and GKG Mani Kannan are co-producing the film on behalf of Open Screen Pictures and G Pictures. Sam CS composes the music for Katiravan’s cinematography. Director Muthiah is writing the dialogues. Directed by his assistant Karthi. Regarding the film, the producers said, ‘We were surprised to see the film ‘Dagaru’ which was released in Kannada, and immediately decided to remake the story in Tamil. But when we came to know that director Muthiah had bought the remake rights of the film before us, we immediately approached him.
At that time, he was working as a PC for Karthi starrer ‘Viruman’, so he could not be involved in the Tamil remake. But he asked if we wanted to make his assistant Karthi the director. We said OK to that. Muthiah then wrote the verse. After the script was developed, we decided that Vikram Prabhu would be suitable to act in this story. Although he has acted in some action films before, this film will be different from them,’ he said.
