Berlin – New league, new stadium, two new players in the starting line-up – a lot was unusual for Viktoria 1889, who had been promoted to third division, on Sunday afternoon in their first appearance in the new division. Unfortunately, in front of a small backdrop in the Jahnsportpark – 1112 spectators came in the heat and humid temperatures – there was an entertaining duel against Viktoria from Cologne. In the end, the Berlin team cheered for coach Benedetto Muzzicato, who celebrated a deserved win 2-1 and turned the game around after a 0-1 deficit. Muzzicato had ordered two entries into the starting line-up in Tolcay Cigerci (from VSG Altglienicke) and Lukas Pinckert (Hamburger SV II).
