He Senator-elect Mauricio Vila (PAN) ruled out that, derived from the good relationship he maintained with the federal Executive during his term as governor of Yucatango vote in favor of the reform to Judiciary.
“There are many people who confuse and believe that the job of a governor is to be the opposition of the President of the Republic. From my point of view, I have always been very respectful, we have always worked in a coordinated manner.”
“Today in Yucatan we are experiencing great progress. Today we can say that in Yucatanthanks to the good relationship between the federal government and the state government (…) we must remember that when we are in government we do not owe ourselves to our political parties, we owe ourselves to the citizens, who are the ones who demand from us and who have to deliver results,” stated the still governor of Yucatan.
However, he added, now a new stage begins as a senator for the National Action Party (PAN) and assured that as a militant for more than 20 years and as part of the blue and white bench in the Upper House will defend his ideals, party principles, “and above all, his campaign promises.”
Vila emphasized that whoever believes that because he had a good relationship with the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador implies that he is going to change parties “he does not know us, neither our history, nor the work we have been doing in Yucatan.”
He added that they have not looked for him either.
