Villarreal Secures Thrilling Last-Minute Victory Over Celta Vigo in La Liga Showdown

The third matchday of La Liga kicked off with a thrilling game full of goals, as Villarreal managed to subdue Celta in the 10th minute of stoppage time, winning 4-3 at El Ceramica. Tasos Douvikas came on as a substitute in the 74th minute.

The third matchday of La Liga started in the best possible way, as Villarreal and Celta combined for a total of seven goals, generously providing entertainment.

The visitors took the lead twice, first with Borja Iglesias in the 12th minute and then with Oscar Mingueza in the 31st, but the “yellow submarine” not only equalized on both occasions but also turned the game around with an own goal from Jailson in the 64th minute.

Earlier, Sergi Cardona brought the match level in the 26th minute (1-1), while Tierno Bari did the same in the 60th minute (2-2), before Carl Starfelt made it 3-3 in the 80th minute.

Just when it seemed like a draw was inevitable, Villarreal won a penalty in the last action of the match. Dani Parejo took the penalty, which Villar managed to save initially, but the Spaniard followed up to score the rebound and set the final score at 4-3, giving his team the three points.

The match also had Greek interest, with Tasos Douvikas coming on as a substitute in the 74th minute and making his presence felt.
