Ville-Marie | 14-year-old boy suspected of being shot

A 14-year-old teenager was shot and injured on Saturday evening in the borough of Ville-Marie, reports the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

Around 6 p.m., the police were called to the intersection of avenue du Docteur-Penfield and Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges to assist a young teenager with lower body injuries. According to the SPVM, the injury could have been perpetrated by a firearm. The victim, found conscious, was transported to a hospital center, where there is no fear for his life.

The suspect(s) reportedly fled before police arrived. A security perimeter was erected so that SPVM investigators and a forensic identification technician could analyze the crime scene. No casing had been found.

The victim will later be met to collect their version of the facts.
