Mystery still hovers over the precise unfolding of the events which mobilized numerous police officers on Saturday evening in Villiers-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne). It was around 10:40 p.m. when a young woman dialed 17. Her companion called her while he was being attacked by four people near the cemetery, rue Christophe Guinegagne. On site, police officers from the Champigny and Chennevières anti-crime brigades spotted two men running away. They were arrested in the town of Hautes-Noues.

One of the two escapees has a gunshot wound to the right knee. He was transported to Saint-Camille hospital in Bry-sur-Marne. The emergency room of the same hospital receives at the same time the visit of another gunshot wound who was dropped off by a friend who fled. The projectile entered the right thigh and exited at the level of the buttock. His vital prognosis is not in jeopardy. To the police, this young man explains that he was hit by a stray bullet without saying more…

A third man severely beaten

Near the Villiers-sur-Marne cemetery, the police discovered traces of blood, a bullet, two hit cases but also an electric baton, shell gloves and a gas canister. A third injured person is found. It was the young woman’s companion who called the police. He was badly beaten. Doctors at the Créteil intercommunal hospital noted numerous hematomas on the face with suspicion of a jaw fracture.

The police believe that these events could be linked to a money debt without knowing what each person’s role was. In total, around ten shell casings were found. But no weapon. Contacted, the Créteil public prosecutor’s office clarified that “there is no obvious context that emerges” from this case. Two police custody is underway: the two fugitives intercepted by the BAC near the cemetery.
